“There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs” -Ansel Adams

The moment of time for which a camera’s shutter is open is more than a moment that light passes through the lens - it is a moment of life that has passed, never to be lived again.

At eastburn photography, we work to let our lenses capture precious moments for you and give you the power to hold those moments precious for ages to come.

It is our passion to capture the greatest gifts given to us by God - life and light. Whether it be the sky reflecting in the windows of a building or the gleam in a hunter’s eye - a newborn’s ponderous gaze or a bride’s loving glance.

Because it is our passion to capture these moments, there is nothing from which we turn our lenses away. For any part of your life that begs capturing, eastburn photography can capture it in a way that reveals life’s true expression. Our photography services cover the full range - from family & pet sessions, engagement & weddings, architecture & landscapes - to nature & wildlife, sports & events, even headshots and comp cards. 1st Annual Phelps Mustang Rally

Hello again to all our car fanatics out there – this time, Mustang and Ford fans particularly. We spent the weekend with a bunch of wonderful people in Phelps, NY participating in the first annual Phelps Mustang rally. We had a blast showing the ‘Stang, meeting people, photographing (of course) and hanging out. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we hope there are many more rallies to come.

We’d like to be able thank everyone that made this event possible with their hard work, organizing and conducting the rally, but we just didn’t get to meet everyone that was involved. We did have the pleasure of meeting and talking with the mayor of Phelps (Jim Cheney) and some of the other people that were working while we were having a good time: Dan, Tank, Alan and Anne… everyone else, you know who you are and we’re sorry we didn’t get to speak with you, at least not on a first-name basis!

Well, I’ll get on with my story now, as I usually do… The rally was a two-day event, beginning with a Ford show. The weather looked a bit gloomy, so we heard later in the day of some car owners having decided not to bring their cars out. Still, we had a good number of cars for the first go around. The show ran from 10am to 4pm and then we all lined up to cruise back around to Main St., where we parked all the Stangs (and a Galaxie and an AC Cobra) in a row. It was quite a spectacle and talk about fun! We all gathered around while the awards were handed out and we took home two – Best in Show and Best Male Autocross Time. That’s right – not only does the Stang look good, Thann can drive it, too! Okay, enough of that… the second day’s activity consisted of a poker run through the western Finger Lakes. We’re talking about NY’s wine country here, so naturally a couple of the stops for cards were at wineries. It wasn’t just a fun road course though, the entire Finger Lakes region is absolutely beautiful – mountains and valleys with glacial lakes in between… just a beatiful place. So we wrapped up Sunday with the show of poker hands from the day’s course. Our hand wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t a winner either. Oh well, better luck next time. And that’s my quick synopsis of a weekend full of good times with good people – now, on with the good photos!

Fillmore Glen Auto Show

We spent the day at beautiful Fillmore Glen State Park (official page here) for the 2009 Fillmore Glen Auto Show. There were many, many cars being shown this year and we recognized quite a few from previous shows this year. We didn’t get to walk around and photograph as much as we have at other shows because this time, we were showing our 2010 Mustang GT Convertible. It was a great show and a fun day overall. We had a very good time meeting people and showing off the car even though we didn’t bring home any trophies. Ah, well. There’s always the Finger Lakes Mustang Rally next weekend, where we will not only show the Stang, but take part in a cruise night parade and a poker run tour through the finger lakes region. We hope you enjoy the photos from today and if you’re in the area, come out and meet us at next week’s show in Phelps, NY. Post-Processing LOTS of photos

Well, here I am in front of the computer on yet another workday evening, having a blast selecting photos from the hundreds taken over a very fun 4-day weekend trip to Michigan of all places… and thought I should take a short break from that to put out an update… just a little synopsis of what eastburn photography has been up to over the last couple of weeks.
As you’ve probably seen, we hit another car show and had a fun day of photographing the sweet motorhead works of art most of the afternoon. Then we spent most of the short week after that getting ramped up for our trip to Michigan. We had a good time there and although the weather was too wet to get out and photograph the outdoors, we had a wonderful adventure on a winery tour and then on the morning we were leaving town the sun broke through the clouds and gave us just a few gorgeous shots of the beach and water.
So this week, we’re working on all those photos AND a set that we took when we visited Robert H. Treman state park in Ithaca, NY before all this. Wow. So many things to photograph, so little time to process and post… but we are getting it done, so be on the lookout for new photos coming soon.
